[RP] The White Bloom Space Station

The crew of the *Magpie Princess* has a mix of historical lore and practical street-smarts regarding their current port of call. Based on the archives and the conversion of the local traditions to the Spelljammer setting, here is what the crew knows about  The White Bloom  and the  Solar Nectar Jubilee

The White Bloom Space Station 

•  The Living Station : The station is not a hunk of cold metal but is built directly into the petals of a gargantuan, bioluminescent space-lily drifting within a shimmering nebula .
•  A Haven for the Free : Much like the original Lilywhite was a refuge for those escaping bondage, The White Bloom serves as a neutral ground in the Astral Sea where outcasts, escaped laborers, and "independent traders" can find sanctuary .
•  The Lower Petals : This is the station's "underbelly," a maze of tangled vines and makeshift scaffolding where the less-reputable elements—like Hyrix Snowfeather—tend to lurk away from the prying eyes of station security .

The Solar Nectar Jubilee 

• The Legend of the Star-Catcher : The festival celebrates the historic escape of the *Star-Catcher*, a vessel crewed by mistreated deckhands who fled a cruel Void-Lord . Legend says their engines were miraculously powered by fermented floral nectar when their fuel ran dry, allowing them to reach the safety of the Bloom .
• The Sacred Libation : The "Solar Nectar" itself is a potent, glowing brew harvested from the space-lily’s stamens. It is said to be a gift from the chaotic-good deity Cayden Cailean, the patron of the station who values bravery, freedom, and a very strong drink .
• The Vibe : The Jubilee is a time of high energy and swashbuckling celebration. It is a period of "lovable dysfunction" where the usual rules of the station are relaxed, making it the perfect time for a crew to celebrate—or for a saboteur to move unnoticed .
•  The "Special Reserve" : As Migs recently discovered, the Jubilee’s special brews are famous across the sector for causing "vibrating brains" and significant gaps in geographic memory the following morning .

The Current Atmosphere 

While the rest of the station is distracted by the colorful lights and chaotic parades of the Jubilee, the crew of the *Magpie* knows that this is a dangerous time. Captain Joey is wary because the festival provides the perfect cover for Hyrix Snowfeather and his remaining loyalists to slip back aboard and reclaim the ship he believes is his birthright .
